Rhythms of the Goddesses
In this workshop, we will give an overview of the women’s cycles and their relationship to the moon. We will also explore the science of mantra and sounding with the mantra ‘Om’ and explore a deeply meditative movement practice.
Saturday 25th May, 9.30am – 12.30pm
CLARITY. Saraswati is the goddess of wisdom and divine inspiration. She represents flow state, and we find her in the periods of life where we have the most mental clarity, such as the week before ovulation during the waxing moon period. We will explore her through embodiment practices, movement, chanting, and meditation.
Saturday 25th May, 2pm – 5pm
CREATION. Lakshmi is the goddess of love, fertility and family. She embodied the time of ovulation and can be found in the femininity of the Full Moon. We will explore Lakshmi through movement, meditations on the energetic heart, and journaling.
Sunday 26th May, 9.30am – 12.30pm
DESTRUCTION. Kali is the goddess of destruction and wild, uninhibited freedom that we experience during PMS. She can be found in the waning moon that represents our descent into darkness. We will explore her through chanting, meditation, the sacral chakra embodiment and movement.
Sunday 26th May, 2pm – 5pm
REBIRTH. Durga is the goddess of protection and strength. She offers the strength for rebirth and integration of what was discovered during the phase of destruction. She can be found in the new moon, which represents the start of a new cycle, and the time when a woman begins her menstruation. We will explore her relationship to the heart as an anchor of courage, chanting and movement.

Christina is a yoga teacher and movement facilitator. She has been moving, dancing, and practicing yoga for almost 20 years. As a teacher, she has facilitated experiences all over the world, including in Bali, Thailand, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, and the United States. As a yoga teacher, she has studied with a large variety of yogis from various lineages, such as Anusara, Embodied Flow, and Yoga Works.
Christina believes that movement can unlock opportunities for self integration and, therefore, better connection to the external world. She believes that the body holds the opportunity for awakening. For her, movement has been instrumental in recognizing and shifting patterns that have prevented her from having greater freedom in her life. Through yoga and movement, she hopes to give people the tools to choose how they wish to shape their lives.
She is an ERYT 500 yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance who has been teaching since 2011. With more than 3000 classroom hours, she currently leads teacher trainings and mentoring programs internationally. She is also currently completing an Embodied Flow Somatic Movement Therapy through ISMETA.
